Please join us for the next in our tribute events in this year-long series of 60th Anniversary programming! Enjoy Shabbat with Rabbi Reuven Hammer, who served Rodef Shalom as spiritual leader from 1960-1964, as well as recognize all of the first-generation members who are still a part of the congregation. Rabbi Hammer lives in Jerusalem, and will be in the U.S. for a convention during the third week of May, which affords us the ability to receive him. He was the only one of the past rabbis who did not attend our 50th Jubilee Gala ten years ago, so in many ways we are closing the circle of connectivity with our heritage. 

Friday evening will begin at 6:00 pm, and will include a "Happy Hour", and a lecture and book signing by Rabbi Hammer, "To Live and Die for the Love of God - the Story of Rabbi Akiva". Shabbat Beginnings service will follow at 7:30 pm. On Saturday morning, we will have dual service opportunities beginning at 9:30 am - Shabbat With a Backbeat in the Social Hall with an Auxillary Service in the School Building. At 10:30 am, we will all come together in the Sanctuary for the balance of services and second lecture by Rabbi Hammer, "Reminiscing About Rodef:  A Memoir of the Early Years", followed by Kiddush. All are welcome to join us for these free events.
